Represent Filipino Italians. Compete internationally in Manila. Discover your roots.

The official STREAM selection for athletes representing Italy at the National Grassroots Volleyball League in the Philippines.

NGVL National Finals May 3–9, 2027 · San Juan, Metro Manila — FilOil Centre
What is NGVL?

One of the largest grassroots volleyball competitions in the Philippines.

Packed gym, NGVL match

Every year hundreds of teams travel from every corner of the country to compete — school teams, club teams, barangay teams. It is volleyball at its most raw and most joyful: packed gyms, families in the stands, whole towns behind a single roster.

Season 2 opens the league to international selections for the first time. Team Italy is one of them.

STREAM is the official organizer for Team Italy — responsible for tryouts, selection, travel and the athletes’ experience from the first application to the flight home.

Why this matters

More Than Volleyball.

This journey is about much more than winning matches. For many Filipino-Italian athletes, it is the first opportunity to compete in the country where their family’s story began.

They won’t simply wear the Italian jersey. They will discover the Philippines through sport.

Meet athletes from every region
From Davao to Baguio, in one gym.
Experience Filipino culture
Food, language, family, the noise of a Filipino crowd.
Create lifelong friendships
Teammates and rivals who stay in touch long after May.
Reconnect with their heritage
For many, a first return to where the family began.
Represent Italy with pride
The jersey travels with them, and so does the country.
Build bridges between two countries
Sport as the shortest route between Italy and the Philippines.

This is where sport becomes culture. This is where competition becomes connection.

One journey.
Two cultures.
One heart.

Milano, Roma, Torino, Bologna, Napoli, Firenze — the roster is built from every corner of Italy. Nessuno gioca da solo: this is a squad, and a community, before it is a selection.

Why Join

This is not just about making a team.

This is about building a bridge between two countries, two cultures, and one community.

For many athletes, this will be their first opportunity to discover the Philippines — not as tourists, but as representatives of Italy and members of a global Filipino community.

Whether you are Filipino-Italian or simply passionate about volleyball and cultural exchange, this journey is about creating connections that go beyond the game.

🇮🇹 Represent Filipino Italy with pride on an international stage.
🇵🇭 Celebrate and reconnect with Filipino heritage, traditions, and community.
🌏 Build friendships with athletes from across the Philippines and around the world.
🏐 Experience a different volleyball culture and challenge yourself against new competition.
🤝 Become part of a movement that uses sport to unite people, cultures, and generations.
❤️ Discover that identity is not defined by where you were born, but by the bridges you choose to build.

This is more than a tournament. It is a journey of identity, culture, belonging, and purpose.

One team. Two cultures. One heart.

The full delegation stays together in one accommodation in Metro Manila, with athletes sharing rooms by team and STREAM staff on site throughout. Details are confirmed with families after the team is announced.
Yes. Parents are welcome to travel and attend matches. They book their own flights and accommodation, and STREAM shares the delegation’s schedule, venues and recommended hotels so families can stay close by.
STREAM assists every family with the required school documentation, issuing official participation certificates and formal letters describing the selection, the competition and the dates involved.
The final athlete contribution is confirmed once flights and accommodation are secured, and it is communicated in full before any commitment is required. STREAM works with partners and sponsors to keep it as low as possible; payments are staged, never a single lump sum.
